General and/or Chronic Pain Physiotherapy
Addresses pain and/or injuries throughout the body. A holistic, evidence-based approach is used to assess all concerns with expertise in complex factors that contribute to chronic/persistent pain. Treatment plans may include hands-on treatments, dry-needling, acupuncture, home-based strategies and exercises, nervous system support, and coaching to support independent management with collaborative decision making in treatment planning.
Women's Pelvic Health Physiotherapy
Pelvic Health Physiotherapy is an effective approach to address pelvic floor related issues such as incontinence, pelvic pain, and prolapse. It is beneficial all throughout a woman's life including prenatal, postpartum, and peri- to post-menopause.
Hypermobility
Whole-person care for individuals with Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder / Ehler's-Danlos Syndromes (suspected or diagnosed). Physiotherapy sessions can include management of pain, joint instability, functional goals, and support for commonly co-existing health concerns (dysautonomia, digestive issues, pelvic floor related concerns, etc). Guidance and support with seeking diagnosis is also available.
Breastfeeding and Breast Health
Physiotherapy support for is beneficial for many concerns for both breastfeeding mothers and infants who are breast and/or bottle feeding. Physiotherapy can help address common conditions including blocked ducts, swelling/inflammation/mastitis, damaged and painful nipples, positioning and latching difficulties, infant suck mechanics, and torticollis.
Diastasis Management and Exercise Programming
Physiotherapy and specialized exercises can help to address Diastasis Recti Abdominis (abdominal muscle separation) as well as safely rebuild general strength postpartum. These sessions focus only on abdominal and general postpartum strengthening. Please book Pelvic Health sessions for any specific pelvic health related concerns.
MVA (Motor Vehicle Accident) Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy for injuries sustained in Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVAs). Addresses injuries covered under the Alberta DTPR guidelines and those outside of protocol.
